Gary Coleman cremated in private in Utah
Former Diff'rent Strokes star Gary Coleman has been cremated in private in Utah, nearly three weeks after he died of a brain haemorrhage.
Lawyer Robert Jeff, who is overseeing the actor's estate, said there was no funeral or wake, because the actor had not wanted one.
"The proceeding was conducted in accordance with Mr Coleman's desires as expressed in his will," he said.
A dispute between his ex-wife and ex-girlfriend had delayed the cremation.
Shannon Price, who divorced Coleman in 2008 and Anna Gray, who was named in Coleman's 2005 will, are both claiming control of his estate.
Mr Jeffs revealed earlier this week, that the same will from five years ago specified he had not wanted a funeral or other service.
That document overturned a will made in 1999, which had stated Coleman wanted to be remembered in a wake conducted by people who had no financial ties to him.
Coleman's ashes and belongings will be securely stored until a final decision has been made by a judge about an executor of the actor's estate.
