University of Sussex staff call of strike
Three days of industrial action at the University of Sussex, due to coincide with exams, has been called off.
Academic and administration staff were due to strike on Monday and take further action on Wednesday and Thursday in a dispute over job cuts.
The University and College Union (UCU) said a series of talks had made significant progress towards avoiding any compulsory redundancies.
The university said risk to exams and student assessments had been removed.
More than 550 members of the University and College Union (UCU) held a one-day strike in March over a proposal to cut 115 jobs and create 20 new posts.
Students staged a sit-in at the university's biggest lecture hall in protest at the cuts.
