Mother in court on Heathfield car boot murders charge
A mother accused of murdering her two young children, whose bodies were found in the boot of a car in East Sussex, has appeared before the Old Bailey.
Three-year-old Harry Donnison and his two-year-old sister Elise were found near the family's former home in Heathfield in January.
Fiona Donnison, 43, of Lightwater, Surrey, was remanded in custody for a hearing at the same court on 7 October.
A trial is expected to take place early next year at Lewes Crown Court.
The former City worker is accused of killing her son and daughter between 26 and 27 January.
Their bodies were found in separate holdalls in the boot of a Nissan car.
The results of post-mortem tests so far released show the children died from asphyxia and had been dead less than 24 hours when their bodies were found.
After their deaths Mr Donnison, who was estranged from his wife, issued a statement describing Harry and Elise as "the lights that shone the brightest in my life".
