Cigarettes worth £10,000 taken in city robbery

Thieves have escaped with cigarettes worth about £10,000 during an early morning robbery in Belfast.

The driver of a van was approached in the inner city Sandy Row area by two men carrying bolt-cutters at 0700 BST on Wednesday.

Police said the men made off in a car taking several boxes of cigarettes with them.

The van driver suffered a minor injury to his knee. He was also badly shaken by the incident.
