Last meal for Oxford age charity lunch

A lunch club for the elderly in Oxford has been closed, with the charity which runs it blaming the recession.

The Corner club at the East Oxford Community Centre has been running for four years, serving cheap lunches.

Age UK Oxfordshire say competition for funding has increased during the recession, forcing the closure.

Director of services Adrian Sell said: "We are working to ensure that the group will continue to meet and flourish in a different location."
