Detectives have released CCTV pictures of a man they want to trace after a passenger allegedly took indecent pictures of a teenage girl on a train.

The 17-year-old victim noticed a man apparently trying to take shots of her underneath a table on the Ore to Brighton service in East Sussex.

British Transport Police (BTP) said the man sat opposite the girl after she boarded the train at Hastings.

Officers said the passenger eventually left the train at Cooden Beach.

'Distressing and intimidating'

The teenager was too frightened to move from her seat after the man moved into her carriage on 20 May.

"This was a very distressing and intimidating experience for the victim, who was put in a very frightening situation," said Det Con Rob Cager.

"Behaviour such as this is completely unacceptable and we are determined to find whoever is responsible."

Det Con Cager appealed for anyone with information or who recognises the man in the CCTV image to contact BTP.
