Burglaries in Derbyshire prompt police warning
Five burglaries within six days in one area of Derbyshire have prompted a warning from police.
Between 15 and 21 June intruders got into houses in Clowne, Barlborough and Whitwell either through insecure windows or by forcing doors.
Items including a car, laptops, a quad bike and jewellery were taken.
Officers have appealed for witnesses and warned householders to be extra careful to make sure doors and windows are locked.
Community Safety Officer Inspector Russ Dakin said: "We are working hard to catch the offenders who've committed these crimes but until we make arrests we're warning people to be extra careful to protect their homes and property.
"We'd also like to remind people that if they see anything they think is unusual or suspicious they should contact us immediately."
