Man hit by theft getaway car outside Daventry store

A man had has his leg broken when he was hit trying to stop a getaway car after a theft at a DIY store in Northamptonshire.

The 36-year-old was struck in the car park of Focus on the Drayton Field industrial estate, Daventry, on Saturday afternoon.

Police said they were investigating the theft of money from the store's till.

A man driving the car was described as being Asian, of large build and aged 50 to 60, with grey hair.

Also in the car were two women, also described as Asian. The elder of the two was aged 50 to 60 about 5ft 3in (1.6m) and of large build.

She had dark-coloured hair, a round face and gold front teeth.

She was wearing a bright coloured Sari.

The second woman was believed to be in her late 20s, about 5ft 5in (1.65m), and of slim build. She was also wearing a Sari.

Anyone with information on the incident, which happened between 1500 BST and 1600 BST, is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police.
