Men injured in separate Birmingham shootings
Two men are in hospital after separate shootings in Birmingham on Thursday.
A 20-year-old man was shot in the stomach during an incident outside a fast food restaurant in Villa Road, Lozells, shortly after 2300 BST.
Villa Road at the junction with Hamstead Road is closed and police said motorists should avoid the area.
A short time later, in Bramley Drive, Handsworth Wood, a 32-year-old man was shot in the groin. Police said the incidents are not being linked.
Both men remain in hospital where their conditions are described as stable.
The first incident, outside Tennessee Fried Chicken, took place at 2302 BST. The second shooting was at 2308 BST.
Hamstead Road will remain closed for most of the morning. Diversions are in place and buses are being redirected.
