England game shown at Shropshire County Show

Big screens will show England's vital World Cup match against Germany on Sunday at the Shropshire County Show.

Organisers say they do not want visitors to the show this weekend to miss the game which would see the team reach the quarter finals if they won.

Two screens are being put up at the Berwick Show Ground in Shrewsbury.

The event was the West Mid Show until organisers ran into financial problems last year and Shropshire Council stepped in with a rescue package.

The agricultural event was then renamed the Shropshire County Show.

The West Midlands Agricultural Society, organisers of the 125-year-old West Mid Show, went into liquidation last November.

The Shropshire Food Festival is being launched at the show, there will be cattle judging competitions, equestrian events and a display of classic cars and agricultural vehicles, organisers said.
