Burglars take advantage of hot weather in Portsmouth
Thirty homes were burgled in a week in Portsmouth as residents left windows and doors open in the warm weather.
Hampshire police said in the vast majority of the burglaries between Monday 21 June and Monday 28 June were aided by unsecured windows and doors.
Fifteen of the burglaries happened in the Fratton district of the city.
Police said 17 homes were burgled during Friday and Saturday when power cuts would have prevented householders from using electric fans.
