NHS Grampian cannot afford voluntary severance scheme
NHS Grampian cannot afford to implement a voluntary severance scheme this year, it has revealed.
Hundreds of staff had asked to be considered for the scheme, which was launched in May in a bid to reduce the budget.
NHS Grampian said the board had discussed implementation and funding and "regrettably" decided it was not possible to take it forward this year.
The health authority apologised to any staff left disappointed.
A spokesperson said: "We invited expressions of interest in good faith and in anticipation that a funding solution would be forthcoming but this proved not to be deliverable in the current economic climate."
