Pushchair toddler hit by driver on Isle of Man

The driver of a 4x4, which reversed into a three-year-old's pushchair, is being sought by Isle of Man Police.

The man was reversing his Silver Hyundai into Cumberland Road, Ramsey, on Monday at 1100 BST, when he hit the pushchair.

The driver stopped to ask the boy's mother if he was okay and then drove off, police said.

A police spokesman said that the man had been reversing off Andreas Road and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The boy was uninjured, but his mother was described as shaken.

"Fortunately the little boy was okay, but this is a serious incident and we feel sure somebody on the island will know who the driver is and we are urging them to get in touch," said a police spokesman.
