A site has been selected for a new primary school to replace the old one in a Borders village.

It follows a public exhibition held in West Linton to get feedback on two options for the building.

A location with the school on the south of the site and playing fields to the north has now been agreed.

Project manager Chris Virtue said the project could now proceed towards seeking full planning consent.

"It is hoped that the plans can be developed to propose a school that will be at the centre of the community," he said.

"It will offer a village hub, a valuable community facility and an example of environmental sustainability."
