New uniform for Welsh firefighters
New protective gear which will help keep Wales' firefighters safe during emergencies has been unveiled.
The new equipment is considered to be one of the world's most advanced firefighting suits.
It will be worn by firefighters from Mid and West Wales, North Wales and South Wales fire and rescue services.
It is said to let the wearer move more easily and for the first time comes in male and female sizes. It is designed to adapt to extreme conditions.
The new kit has been tested by Welsh firefighters and has been modified to meet their specific requirements.
Paul Bates, who is assistant chief fire officer of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be able to unveil the new all-Wales personal protective equipment to the public of Wales.
"Our fighters are now among the best protected in the world and the new kit represents a significant investment in their safety."
The kit is said to protect the wearer more efficiently from heat and flames while allowing them to move with more ease and comfort.
