Sexual assault in Bracebridge Heath leads to warning

People have been warned not to go out on their own in part of Lincolnshire after a serious sexual assault.

A 65-year-old woman was attacked on Viking Way in Bracebridge Heath on Wednesday evening.

The suspect was described as a man in his late-20s or early-30s, who was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Police said they would be putting on more patrols in the area but urged those leaving the house in the evening or at night to take extra care.

The offender was also described as slim, clean shaven, with a long, oval-shaped face. He was carrying a black or dark brown nylon shoulder bag.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: "We are warning people in the area, if possible, not to go out walking alone in the evening.

"If you have to then make sure you have a mobile phone and obviously call 999 immediately in an emergency situation."
