Pillion rider seriously injured in A25 crash in Shere

A 64-year-old pillion passenger has been airlifted to hospital in London after being seriously injured in a crash in Surrey.

The woman, from the Dorking area, was taken to King's College Hospital in Denmark Hill after the accident on Thursday afternoon on the A25 in Shere.

Surrey Police said the woman's injuries were "life changing". The rider of the Triumph motorcycle had minor injuries.

The driver of the car, a Ford Fusion, was not injured.

The motorcycle was travelling from Dorking to Guildford when the accident took place.

The driver was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital at Guildford.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward.
