Dumfries drugs 'revenge mission' duo jailed
Two Dumfries men have been jailed after a drugs "revenge mission" in the town.
Gary Miller needed several layers of stitches on knife slashes to his face following an assault at a flat in Bruce Dewar Meuse in April.
Warren Thomson, 23, of Millburn Avenue, was jailed for four years and eight months for the blade attack.
Ronald Lindsay, 50, of Balmoral Avenue, was given 20 months for kicking and punching another man in the same flat.
Dumfries Sheriff Court was told that Lindsay's daughter had previously been taken to hospital following an overdose of heroin and he had suspicions about the involvement of one of the victims.
Sheriff Kenneth Ross said there was no alternative to custodial sentences, and jailed the pair.
