Motorist 'tried to kill' pedestrians in Cambridgeshire

Police say an incident in which a man drove a car at two pedestrians in Cambridgeshire is being treated as attempted murder.

Two men were outside a property in Boyces Road, Wisbech, on Sunday evening when the 4x4 was driven at them.

A 31-year-old man was hit and is in a serious but stable condition at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

The second man managed to get out of the way. The vehicle was driven off in the direction of Money Bank.

Police said it was not known how many people were in the car, but there may have been more than one.

Det Insp Mike Branston, of Cambridgeshire police, said officers were treating the incident as an attempted murder.

He said: "Thankfully, the victim is in a stable condition in hospital but his injuries could have easily been even more serious."
