Man's eye impaled by radiator pipe

A man has been impaled through his eye socket by a radiator pipe at his home in West Lothian.

The 61-year-old was taken to The Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in Edinburgh by the specialist ambulance Medic One, after being cut free by fire crews at 1320 BST.

He was taken to hospital with parts of the radiator pipe still embedded in his skull.

The incident happened at the man's home on Edinburgh Road, Bathgate.
