A school swimming pool in Leicestershire has reopened two months after it was damaged by vandals.

Pupils at Brookside Primary in Oadby were left devastated after the attack at their school in May.

Thousands of pounds of damage was caused to wall panels, floats and windows.

After weeks of repairs, the pool has been officially reopened by Olympic swimmer Duncan Goodhew, who won the 100m breaststroke gold in Moscow.

He won the medal in the 1980 Olympics.

The pool is used by the 300-pupil primary school and two other schools during the day and for swimming lessons in the evening.
