Jersey has signed a new tax information-sharing pact with Portugal.

The Tax Information Exchange Agreement aims to enable information on tax and financial crime to be shared between the jurisdictions.

The Chief Minister, Senator Terry Le Sueur, said once the agreement comes into force negotiations to avoid double taxation for individuals will start.

It is the 16th Tax Information Exchange Agreement to be signed between Jersey and another nation.
