Woman sexually assaulted during night out in Woking

An 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted after she became separated from her friends during a night out, Surrey Police said.

The teenager was attacked by a man in a secluded area of woodland in Boundary Park, off Boundary Road in Woking, in the early hours of Friday.

Surrey Police said the victim was approached by the man in his 30s or 40s who led her to the wooded area and then assaulted her.

The force has appealed for witnesses.

'Sitting together'

Detectives said while the suspect was sitting on a bench outside the Rat and Parrot pub with the victim he chatted to a man who was described as black, wearing a red T-shirt and a baseball cap.

Police said they would like to speak to this man as he may have vital information which could help them.

Speaking about the suspect, Det Insp Karen Hughes said: "This man saw the victim was alone and vulnerable when he made his approach.

"The area would have been very busy at the time and I am keen to speak to anyone who thinks they may have seen the victim and suspect sitting on the bench together."
