A bottle recycling plant which burnt down in Lincolnshire is set to reopen within the next few weeks.

Damage caused by the fire at AWS Eco Plastics at Hemswell Cliff in August 2009 ran into millions of pounds.

Smoke could be seen for miles after a fault in a fan unit started the fire. At its height, 70 firefighters tackled the blaze.

The site has now been rebuilt and is expected to eventually employ more people than before the fire.

The company had to lay workers off because of the blaze but now the jobs are coming back and where possible the original staff are being re-employed.

The new machinery is expected to be up and running by the end of July.
