Dartmoor environmental projects get £50K

Dartmoor authorities have given nearly £50,000 for environmental projects.

Among the awards from the National Park Authority is £50,000 for Butterfly Conservation to care for high brown, marsh and heath fritillary butterflies.

River Dart Country Park, near Ashburton, has also been given £17,000 towards a wood chip boiler.

A ground source heat pump, which takes heat from the ground and a water turbine project at Poundsgate has received £20,000.

Bovey Tracey's contemporary craft fair, Making on the Moor, held in June, received £3,000.

The Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World, at Haldon, has received £4,000.
