North Sea caterers reject pay offer

North sea catering workers have taken a step towards possible industrial action after rejecting a pay offer and paid leave proposals.

About 1,600 members of the RMT and Unite unions were offered a salary rise of 1.95% and 21 days' leave by the Caterers Offshore Trade Association.

But 71% of the members voted against the deal on Monday.

Employers will now be urged to increase the offer or staff will be balloted on industrial action.
