Dorset post office customer has takings robbed by men

A woman was robbed of her takings by two masked men as she tried to pay them in at a post office in Dorset.

The 37-year-old customer was involved in a scuffle with the raiders at the post office in Broadway Lane, Throop, near Bournemouth, at 0950 BST.

A man managed to raise the alarm and call police but the men fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The victim of the robbery was treated at the scene for the effects of shock but did not need hospital treatment.

Search dogs

Police have not revealed whether a weapon was used.

It is believed the two men were aged in their late teens and were wearing dark hooded tops.

Detectives also want to speak to a third man seen outside the post office at the time of the robbery.

He is described as being in his late teens with very short brown hair and was wearing a grey T-shirt and dark trousers.

Officers attended the scene and carried out a search of the area which involved the police helicopter and search dogs but nothing was found.
