Firefighters tackle blaze at flat in Plymouth Barbican
Fire crews from across Plymouth have spent more than six hours tackling a fire in a flat in the Barbican.
The fire started in the kitchen of a flat above the Pilgrims Bar, Southside Street, just before 1800 BST on Monday.
Appliances from Camelshead, Greenbank, Plymstock and Crownhill were sent to the scene and a cordon was set up while crews dealt with the incident.
The fire, which is not thought to be suspicious, later spread into the roof space of the building.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said that the second-floor kitchen and roof space were severely damaged in the blaze.
