Two arrested over takings raid at Dorset post office

Two people have been held in connection with a robbery where a woman had her takings stolen at a post office.

The 37-year-old customer was involved in a scuffle with two raiders at the post office in Broadway Lane, Throop, near Bournemouth, on Monday.

A man managed to raise the alarm and call police but the men fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Two males, 16 and 21, were arrested over the robbery. The teenager was bailed and the man is in custody.

The victim of the robbery was treated at the scene for the effects of shock but did not need hospital treatment.

Police have not revealed whether a weapon was used.
