Safe stolen from Ellesmere pub found dumped

A safe dating back about 100 years which was stolen from a Shropshire pub has been found dumped in North Wales.

The iron Chubb safe was taken from the Red Lion in Church Street, Ellesmere, early on Friday.

The safe, which was found on Sunday at Sarn, near Bangor on Dee, had been cut open and the contents stolen.

Three people wearing dark clothes, with their faces covered, were seen leaving the pub in a blue car at about 0410 BST on Friday.
