Two arrested over fatal stabbing of boy in Newham
Two teenagers have been arrested over the death of a boy who was stabbed in a fight in east London.
Ailton Campos De Oliveira, 16, was attacked in Denbigh Road, Newham, in the early hours of 4 July.
It is thought he was chased by a group of youths on bikes before being attacked. He died two days later.
Two 17-year-old males were arrested, one on Monday and one on Tuesday, and are in custody at separate police stations, Scotland Yard said.
In a statement, the victim's family said: "Our family have been left devastated by the needless death of Ailton.
"He was just 16-years-old and had so much to look forward to in life.
"We would hate for another family to suffer a similar loss and believe that his death highlights the dangers of young people carrying knives.
"In Ailton's memory we appeal for calm and would urge any person who has information regarding his death to contact police."
