Farwell party marks Northview Primary School closure

A farewell party is due to be held on Friday to mark the closure of a school in Wiltshire.

Swindon Borough Council said Northview Primary School in Highworth should shut due to low pupil numbers which were expected to fall further.

A school spokeswoman said the party would include funfair rides and a bar and would be open to current and former pupils, staff, governors and helpers.

The school is due to close on Tuesday, the last day of term.

Parents had campaigned to save the school, which currently has 63 pupils across all seven years.

The party is due to take place from 1600 BST to 2130 BST.
