Eight charged after Edinburgh and Lothian drugs raids

Six men and two women have been charged with offences related to the supply of drugs in and around Edinburgh.

More than 100 officers from Lothian and Borders Police were involved in a series of raids on Friday.

Police said about 11.7kg (25.8lb) of cocaine with an estimated street value of £500,000 was seized.

The suspects were arrested in Edinburgh, Lanarkshire and East, Mid and West Lothian and are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
