US quarterly GDP may be revised to 2.8%

The US economy probably grew faster than expected this summer.

The latest figures on total output, or GDP, are likely to be revised as high as 2.8% for the 3 months from July to September, compared to the 2.5% originally calculated.

That means overall 2010 may prove to be stronger that people thought, setting up better expectations for the American economy in 2011.
