Inflation 'could force rates increase'

An economist has warned that continued high inflation could force the Bank of England to raise interest rates.

Steven Bell of GLC described the rise of the UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) as shocking.

The CPI annual inflation rate rose to 3.7% in December, up from 3.3% in November.
