Aircraft makers announce $15bn orders

The Farnborough Air Show, the largest of its kind in the world, started today.

The two largest aircraft manufacturers, Boeing and Airbus, have taken the occasion to announce new orders worth over $15bn. The deals are being seen as signs that the aviation industry is on the way back up after a dire two-year slump.
