Obama hails US car industry's survival as 'patriotic'

President Obama has told workers at a Chicago Ford factory the survival of the US car industry - and his role in it - is an act of patriotism.

The carmaker is one of America's "big three" - and while it did not receive bailout funds like GM and Chrysler, some of its plants are expanding production.
