BAA talks continue to avert strike

Talks to try to avert a major strike by thousands of ground staff at six British airports are continuing.

The face-to-face talks between BAA and the Unite union are taking place at the central London offices of the conciliation service Acas.

Security staff, engineers, and firefighters have voted to strike over a 1.5% pay offer.

Strikes could close Heathrow, Stansted, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports, BAA has warned.

Richard Scott reports.
