George Osborne outlines public's role in deciding cuts

The government is to refocus public spending on areas that will boost the UK's long-term economic success, Chancellor George Osborne has said.

Britain can move towards recovery without sacrificing growth or becoming less fair, he told the City.

Speaking at news agency Bloomberg's London offices, the chancellor also outlined how the general public can help to decide where cuts in spending should be made.
