Energy companies face sales questions

Regulator Ofgem is investigating whether energy suppliers are following new rules intended to stop the mis-selling of their products.

Npower, Scottish Power, Scottish and Southern Energy, and EDF Energy all face questions over face-to-face and telephone sales of energy contracts.

Sarah Harrison of Ofgem said they are being scrutinised to see if they are complying with regulations brought in last October.
