Taiwan's export orders up on expectations

Taiwan's export orders placed in August have risen by 23%, more than expected.

Despite previous predictions about a slow-down in the second half of the year, Taiwan's exports have continued to rise.

Demand from the United States and Europe made up for a decline in orders from China.
