Tesco enjoys 'the tailwinds of recovery', bosses say

Sir Terry Leahy will shortly leave his post at Tesco which, under his control, has become the world's third largest retailer.

Tesco has posted profits of twelve and half per cent in the first six months of the year.

Asia has again proved the powerhouse of growth.

But the US operation has struggled, with many of it's "Fresh and Easy" stores being mothballed.
