Vince Cable to launch Competition Authority

David Cameron has told business leaders that the Government wants Britain to become the most entrepreneurial and dynamic in its history. At the CBI conference in central London, the Prime Minister said the coalition would have a "relentless" focus on economic growth.

The Business Secretary, Vince Cable, told the conference that competition was one of the great drivers of growth but it was important to have clear and consistent rules to govern business behaviour. He said the coalition would introduce plans for a single Competition Authority in the New Year.
