Singapore's industrial output up
Singapore's industrial output picked up in September thanks to the strong performance of its pharmaceutical sector.
Factory activity was 5.1% up on the month and 26.2% higher on the year. That will be of some comfort after a recent tumble in its GDP reading. However reading deeper into the data the picture becomes a bit more murky.
Once you strip out biomedical sales - which are notoriously volatile - you find that other output actually shrank over the month.
