'Excellent progress': Willie Walsh praises staff as BA back in profit

British Airways has made pre-tax profits of £158m in the six months up to the end of September.

It follows two years in which BA lost nearly £1bn after it was hit by the worldwide economic slump, industrial disputes, and disruption caused by ash from a volcano in Iceland.

BA chief executive Willie Walsh paid tribute to staff for the progress made.
