Sainsbury's 'helping customers manage their weekly shop'

Sainsbury's has posted an 8% rise in profits for the first half of the financial year. The UK's third biggest supermarket chain made profits of £332m and like-for-like sales were up by 2%.

The company's chief executive Justin King told the BBC the figures were a clear indication of Sainsbury's increasing appeal to customers.
