Royal boost to business expected in run up to wedding

The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is likely to produce a flood of new Royal memorabilia and sales of mugs, tea towels and plates are expected to surge before the event.

Royal weddings also provide a boost to tourism and it is expected that British businesses will benefit from the nuptials

Sandy Dawe, chief executive of VisitBritain told the BBC ''heritage and the monarchy is part of the appeal'' for tourists.
