Ireland resists worldwide bail-out for economy

Ireland has insisted it will work with the European authorities to overcome its huge budget deficit.

The debt-laden country has so far resisted accepting a bail-out from international financial institutions.

There is concern that without support, Ireland's debt problems could engulf other countries.
