Euro is squeezed by economic woes

The euro currency is looking weaker on the foreign exchanges as borrowing costs rise to near record highs, for member states trying to tackle mountains of debt.

Portugal's general strike has finished, but the country is just one day away from a budget which aims to slash billions from its deficit.

In Ireland, voters in Donegal will get to give their verdict on Thursday on an international bail out plan to cut their debt.
