China sets economic policy for coming year

While the world's attention is on the row surrounding the Nobel Prize, China's leaders have turned their focus to the country's economy.

The annual meeting to set economic policy for the coming year is getting under way in Beijing. The government has a tricky balancing act between maintaining growth and jobs in the world's number two economy whilst putting a lid on soaring living costs.
